You have to respect Dr. Acula for coming back after almost a decade and not trying to be anything else but a better version of themselves. Sonically darker, more mature, yet still characteristically fun, this is Dr. Acula at their best so far.

For Derek is extremely abrasive with its crushing mix and distorted .. well, everything. It's MySpace Nintendocore baybee! There are synth interludes (I especially dig the closing track) to provide a breather, which is a good call. There are nasty breakdowns and harsh, sometimes sassy vocals. Rad to see this niche classic born again!
